Just because Punxsutawney Phil said six more weeks of winter, doesn’t mean you can’t get a little head start on Spring cleaning.
I love finding new ways to harness the powers of nature in my daily life. Like this Natural All-Purpose Cleaner. Instead of all the harsh chemicals in your typical store-bought cleaner, this one uses the natural powers of vinegar and essential oils to fight the grime. It’s also way more economical than the name-brand stuff, but works just as well.
First step, gather up your supplies. Grab a spray bottle (I love a good up-cycle). You’ll also need water, white vinegar, dish soup, and if you fancy, some essential oil for a little pizz-azz.
You’ll want to use about a 9 to 1 ratio of water to vinegar. I found 3 cups of water to 1/3 cup of vinegar nicely filled a regular cleaning spray bottle.
Next, I added my 1/3 cup of vinegar. Vinegar is a wonderful all-purpose cleaner. It’s naturally occurring, so it’s not harmful to you or the environment, but acidic enough to kill bacteria.
This step is optional. If you want your cleaner to have a little extra oomph, add some dish soap. I added about a 1/4 cup to mine.
I also opted in to adding some Lavender oil to my cleaner. I put in about 6 pumps of Lavender oil, close to a table spoon. Lavender actually has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities, on top of smelling oh-so-lovely!
SHAKE IT UP!
Remember to make sure it’s all mixed (especially if you added the dish soap) each time you use it.
I thought I’d give my new spray a new name…
Give this a try and take advantage of your time indoors by starting a lil’ Spring cleaning. That way once Spring, finally, rolls around you can get outside and enjoying nature.
