My last Adventure Getaway was ca-raaaa-zay fun. These trips just keep getting more and more fun. Just when I think they won’t get any more fun… they do. The reason I haven’t posted any pictures of the Montana Adventure yet is because the New York Times came and documented it for 3 days straight, and an amazing photographer took about 8,000 photos. I can’t wait to see which ones they picked. And thanks to a talented journalist, on November 17th in the Sunday magazine, you’ll get to read the story of the amazing women that were there as well, and that is ultimately why I do all of this… to create an experience where women can come together and support each other, lift each other up, and challenge themselves physically and emotionally.

Recently I have been thinking a lot about my close girlfriends and how important those relationships are to me. When I look back over the years I realize I met so many of them during those unforgettable bonding experiences that life brings your way. There is a lot that I love about the Adventure Getaways that I’ve been doing over the last two years, but my hands down favorite thing is watching women come together from across the country, meet each other for the first time and leave at the end of the experience as lifelong friends.

Since I hosted my first Adventure Getaway two years ago, I have been amazed to see how many different types of women have had a desire to come on these adventure trips with me, to experience life more viscerally and challenge themselves to experience new things.

There is something about these Getaways, every single time I say to myself, “wow, I couldn’t have hand picked a better group of women to come together as total strangers and bond as if they had known each other for years.” I feel very lucky to witness and take part in this sort of togetherness and am grateful to have met so many wonderful people along the way and to share all kinds of adventures, laughter, and good food with them. I’ve made friends for life.

The next one will be at Primland, in Virginia.

HBO will be there documenting it for “Real Sports” with Bryant Gumbel. I would love nothing more than to highlight as many of the strong wonderful women in this world as possible. So if you have any aspirations to join us on one of these adventures… now is the time to be fearless.

See you there!
