BlogHer Food Virtual Conference Pass by WMBLY!

Sometimes I tell you about how to make your own tonic water, other times it’s how to cook a deer heart, and even other times I tell you about generally very cool things.

Today it’s the latter. Get ready.

I’m attending the BlogHer Food ’10 Conference this weekend in San Francisco. I’ll be speaking on a panel about branding and media in the blogosphere with some other cool cats.

The problem with conferences in general is that they are often sold out. Or they are cost prohibitive for those who have to fly in, book a hotel, and pay for a conference ticket.

Enter WMBLY.

BlogHer has partnered with WMBLY this year to stream the conference live through a virtual stage. You can chat with other people in the conference in real time and watch everything that’s going on, from interviews, to keynotes, to panels. And you can do it all in your pajamas if you want to!

And unlike those who are attending the conference, you can actually switch between the 4 channels as fast as you want, whereas in person we can only be in one room at a time.

And if you don’t have time to sit and watch the whole thing live, the great part is that your pass allows to view it later too. This means I’m going to buy a conference pass even though I’m going, because there’s no way I can watch Ree Drummond and Elise Bauer simultaneously, even though I want to. And I don’t want to miss out on any of their jewels of wisdom.

I think this is the wave of the future and I’m really excited about it. I’ve worked with the folks at WMBLY in the past for some of my projects and they are razor smart and very talented. They also know how to brand an event like no one I’ve ever met.
