We love Christmas around here. There’s nothing quite like receiving a thoughtful gift, but when that thoughtful gift comes in a beautiful package it takes it to a whole other level. There are so many ways to get creative with your gift wrapping and we love the idea of doing so with things you already have on hand. For our wrapping this year we are using this DIY Newsprint Wrapping Paper.
This DIY is super easy and only requires a few things you most likely already have on hand.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Some old newspapers
Scissors (We love these cute gold ones)
Washi Tape (Going with a pretty pattern or colored one is a great idea, it really pops on the black & white paper)
Ribbon

You simply unfold the newsprint and wrap your presents as you would normally. Sometimes because of the size, you have to cut and tape sections of newsprint together, we love the idea of using a pattern and colorful tape to do this. The tape really pops on the black and white.
The trick to really wrapping up a perfect present is to make sure you fold down crisp corners to keep everything nice and compact.

This is also a great option for odd shaped gifts as well. You can add some fresh greenery or even a handmade ornament like we did here. There are also opportunities to add a pop of color with berries and other natural elements you can find in your own backyard.

It is a great solution for wrapping up odd shaped gifts as well. The versatility that newsprint gives you is limitless.

You can cut the newsprint into strips and shapes and use it to make bows and decorations to add to your presents.
You can use the funny pages to wrap up the kid’s presents. You can also use shopping bags (like G did here), magazine pages, maps, or even old book pages too.

Have some potatoes around? You can actually easily turn them into a stamp if you’re feeling extra creative.
Have a fun way you’ll be wrapping up your presents this holiday season?
