I think the only way to make it through a lingering winter is to dream of things to come in spring. My grandmother used to make a pencil drawing of her garden and how she wanted it to look, and then she would go about making lists of the things she was going to grow in it. And then perhaps go further into the recipes she might make with the bounty of her garden. Her sister, my great-aunt Gray, had some amazing garden tools that we still have. They lived in an old shed and have old wooden handles. I want to share with you how to take care of garden tools today so yours can last as long as ours have. They become a family heirloom after all!
