We’re halfway through September and I haven’t even told you all that happened in August. Where does the time go really?
Tomorow I’m heading off to Montana for an Adventure Getaway that I am sooo excited about. There are so many fun surprises in store for these ladies, including a custom hat fitting by Stetson. Cowgirl hats for everyone!
I’ve loved doing this “Things That Happened to Me” series here every month so I’m going to give you the run down for August, right here, right now, before I run out the door.
In August I went to New York and visited Charlie. He just had a birthday two days ago by the way and if you visit my Facebook page you’ll see his bow. Charlie really knows how to rock a bow.
While I was in New York we assembled the new cider press.
Well, my crafty dad did really and I took pictures. We had to paint it first with a hard outer coating so that it would last with all of that cider that we’re gonna press. I love fall apples. Is there anything better than the taste of a fall apple? I think not. I need to go to New York for some fall apples. I love Texas, but they can’t do apples right here.
While I was at Tulipwood with the family, Charlie did a lot of taste testing of the apples. And a lot of swimming. Charlie is obsessed with swimming. He does running jumps into the swimming pool hourly, paddles around, then goes and finds an apple on the ground and prances around with it.
The good thing about Charlie’s proclivity toward fruit is that sometimes he discovers fruit that we didn’t know we had. For example, we’ve had a pawpaw tree and we didn’t think it had any fruit and Charlie just found the one piece from the tree.
I guess it’s finders keepers, right?
While I was New York in August I also did this on Fox… you can watch here if ya like.
But then when I got back to Austin something else happened…
I started looking at furniture… like a lot of furniture.
This hairy chair for example.
Do you know why?
You guys I bought a house!!!
Excuse the early morning puffy eye picture, but wow. I’m in love with my house. I can’t wait to show it to ya.
My favorite part is that Texas wanted to make it reaalll clear that I’m a single woman who bought her own house. I wonder if they have a special letter I’m supposed to wear on my clothes… a big S.
Bring it on! Because in a way, I think that is the best part of it all.
I celebrated with a friend who came over and lent me his muscle and was basically a moving hero. And I’m totally in love with my new house now. I never leave. I’m such a hermit. I’m so sad to leave it tomorrow…
Did I mention I love my house?
And a few other things I did in August:
I went to this totally rad pizza place right outside of Austin. Go ASAP!
We started bringing local interns on board to start working with us and it has been so fun! We have room for one more who has photoshop skillz so if you know of any awesome, talented Austin based people… send ’em our way.
Also in August, I made TSA work extra hard on my way to an Arkansas dove hunting extravaganza.
And my friends in Arkansas taught me about 3D television. What will they think of next?! That’s a 3D turtle floating around on the TV. Some things need to be 3D to be interesting.
Also… remember that moving hero I mentioned? He took me to see this AWESOME card mechanic named Richard Turner. They are working on a documentary about him and I can’t wait til it’s done because he is the most amazing story. And the best part about that night is that I got to be his card assistant during his show… boggled. my. mind.
Oh and I made you a video in August! On how to pick and cook the best fish at the market.
Okay friends, that’s all for now… how was your August? Are you loving September? I’m in love with September.
Watch my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram over the next week so I can show you all of the Montana Adventure Getaway pics. Bye for now!
