Hello Friends,
A few weeks ago, on my birthday to be exact, I took a stop off at my mailbox in downtown Austin and had the most wonderful birthday present awaiting me.

Today I’m sharing one of my latest favorite things — it’s my friend Ree’s new cooking book, chalk full ‘o juicy recipes and photography that will make you smile. It’s a wonderful companion to her beloved website and new cooking show on the Food Network.

Here are some of the treasures you will find inside:

Yes! The coolest picture of all time.

This is the table of contents to give you a sense of all of the categories. Lots of good grub here.

Sweet lime pickles, these look divine. I love pickled everything and there’s nothing like a shelf full of pickled things in various shades.

Whiskey Mustard Meatballs = yes.

Homemade Doughnuts = yes x 2.

It’s full of family photos too. Life on the ranch. Chaps.

Sunsets like these.

It’ll make ya laugh.

It’ll make ya smile.

It’ll make ya burp.

It’ll make ya want to go back for seconds.

So in honor of her new book, I’m giving away THREE copies of Ree’s new book, personally signed by her. I think you’ll love it as much as I do, it really has something for everyone and also makes a wonderful gift. Ree truly makes people pleasing food.

I look forward to playing outside with my son before the heat and humidity of summer really kick in – can’t wait for all sorts of new adventures!!

Oh spring, gardening is what makes it wonderful; gardening before it gets too hot.

I love the thought of starting my gardens and thinking of new recipes for all the goodies that come from it!

Opening the windows and listening to the amazing chorus of birdsong emanating from our woods.

Spring gobbler seasons are starting to open, Morel’s are starting to “pop” and the forest comes alive with fresh growth.

My favorite thing about Spring is waking up to sunshine and not having to layer up just to go into the kitchen.

Being able to sit out on the patio and not break into a sweat. Drinking rose’ wines… planting basil… I could go on and on but springtime in Texas is my favorite time of the year.

There’s just nothing like the color retuning in the Spring. Even though we had an extremely mild winter, the redbuds and Bradford pears (although very stinky) blooming brings with them new life and the promise of summer and slower routines to come.

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and you don’t have to wear a coat. It is a happy time of year. I just adore Pioneer Woman. I have watched her on TV from the beginning. I have introduced many friends and family to her and her great television show and her absolutely wonderful receipes. Thank you for all that you do!
