I had a can of organic pumpkin puree staring at me on my shelf and decided it was high time to do something with it. Really just so I had an excuse to buy more pumpkin. This pumpkin spice smoothie turned out to be pure magic and I whipped it up in under 5 minutes. The best part? You likely have all the spices you already need to make your own pumpkin spice, no special spice purchases necessary.
I am definitely a bit of a sucker for the fall flavors and spices. I think I crave them after a hot summer. There’s something about the fall colors on the road at Tulipwood and the fireplace going in the kitchen on cool crisp mornings, that make me want to get out the nutmeg!
I dug up dates and spices and almond milk and pumpkin puree from my cupboard, but don’t feel you have to go out and buy a bunch of ingredients to make this. Use it as a chance to experiment with your spice cabinet.
Don’t have almond milk? Then use regular milk, or coconut milk! Don’t have dates? Add a little maple syrup or honey. Really play around and come up with a cozy combination that makes the most of what you already have.
It is a happy way to start your day. Give this a try! And come back to tell me how you liked it and any spins you added to it yourself.
