How to Arrange a Charcuterie Board Like a Rockstar

We have been spending most of this week with G in her kitchen, learning everything we can from an expert chef. When we discussed what was one of the top things we wanted to learn and share, we all agreed that we’d love to know some more quick-and-easy party recipes. And if there is one thing G is perfect at teaching it is the art of crafting the perfect Charcuterie Board. A charcuterie board is sure to please a crowd and allows for maximum impact with minimal effort. You can even keep certain things on hand for when you have an impromptu patio party (thanks to all your spring gardening efforts). We couldn’t just share with you how to arrange an ordinary plain-Jane charcuterie board thought, this is How to Arrange a Charcuterie Board Like a Rockstar with a #WildFood and exotic twist.

Let the Meat Shine

G’s Suggestions:

  • Calabrese
  • Soppressata
  • Proscuitto (It’s just not a charcuterie board without it).
  • Maybe some wild boar Cacciotorini if you can find it.
  • Finnochiono is another one of her favorites, it has lots of fennel seeds, mmm.

Get Creative With Color

A charcuterie board is a feast for all of the senses, not just your taste buds. When it comes to choosing the fixings this is the time to let your eyes do the picking.

G’s Suggested Fixings

  • Olives (the more varieties the better)
  • Radishes with a pot of grass fed butter and a bowl of course sea salt, or smoked salt
  • Pickled-Peppers
  • Pickled okra
  • Honey (Especially fancy French ones like we used here from her trip to France).

The Setup

Rather than just grabbing one large board, we love the idea of using what we already have on hand to create a buffet-style charcuterie setup. This makes it easier for your party-goers to graze and also makes for a really lovely showcase.

We used a variety of small serving boards, pottery and even coasters and salad plates to make up our table.

We also took a long roll of butcher paper to make for a disposable tablecloth. You can even take a marker and write the names of the meats to help inform everyone exactly of what they are eating.

We also mixed in candles and other decor elements we had readily available around the house to really make for a grand setup.
