After I spent the day solving the "plague of pigs" crisis a few weeks ago, I began a hog cooking extravaganza. There were so many parts to break down and ponder.
This is my friend Mike breaking down and pondering:
Isn't he doing a nice job? He's a scholar of the woods and the kitchen.
The thing about…
One of the questions I get most often from interviewers is "what is your favorite wild animal dish?"
I always describe this one.
From the first moment I tasted it, it earned itself a special place in the crevices of my mind.
This is a whole wild hog, marinated for days and then smoked for many hours.
There is…
What's on your Thanksgiving menu? I'll go first, I like going first.
2 woodcock, 2 pheasant, 2 ducks, 2 pigeons, string beans, salad, sweet potatoes, baked apples... and a pear tree.
I'm in England and I'm pretty sure they don't celebrate the pilgrims escape from England and visit to the new world. But I had a lovely…
And the winner is....Rory Allison "I love me a pumpkin cookie that my wife makes. It is more cakey then cookie but with hot chocolate it is divine." Congrats Rory! Email me at georgia at georgiapellegrini dot com to claim your prize!

Y'all ready for this?
Sometimes I tell you about how to make your own tonic water, other times it's how to cook a deer heart, and even other times I tell you about generally very cool things.
Today it's the latter. Get ready.
I'm attending the BlogHer Food '10 Conference this weekend in San Francisco. I'll be speaking on a panel about branding and media in the blogosphere with some other cool cats.
The problem with conferences in general is that they are often sold out. Or they are cost prohibitive for those who have to fly in, book a hotel, and pay for a conference ticket.
Enter WMBLY.
BlogHer has partnered with WMBLY this year to stream the conference live through a virtual stage. You can chat with other people in the conference in real time and watch everything that's going on, from interviews, to keynotes, to panels. And you can do it all in your pajamas if you want to!
And unlike those who are attending the conference, you can actually switch between the 4 channels as fast as you want, whereas in person we can only be in one room at a time.
And if you don't have time to sit and watch the whole thing live, the great part is that your pass allows to view it later too. This means I'm going to buy a conference pass even though I'm going, because there's no way I can watch Ree Drummond and Elise Bauer simultaneously, even though I want to. And I don't want to miss out on any of their jewels of wisdom.
I think this is the wave of the future and I'm really excited about it. I've worked with the folks at WMBLY in the past for some of my projects and they are razor smart and very talented. They also know how to brand an event like no one I've ever met.
So if you weren't able to get a ticket to this year's conference, or are generally curious about all of us food people running around a hotel together and want to learn about the many topics that are being covered this year, you can GET A PASS HERE.
You don't want to miss it, it's going to rock.
See you there!

I ain't gettin no money from WMBLY or BlogHer. I just love 'em.
One of the things I've liked most about this book tour, are the in between moments. The things I've done on the way to the book events.
The night before the delta dove hunt is one of my favorite nights of the year. It is full of food, and laughter, and guitar blues, and whiskey, and…
I'm so happy to share this video version from my new Modern Pioneering series. Fruit roll-ups were a big thing when I was growing up. There were so many iterations at one point that I was in pure fruit candy bliss. Then there were the healthy versions that we'd always find at the health food…
Grandma P. is in rehabilitation. She's slowly getting her movement back. But she is not pleased with the situation. She said, "Well I guess you're learning a lot about life, aren't you." Then she said, "I'm learning a lot about life too."
One of the last things we made together was tofu mayonnaise. She really loves…
